What We Collect
- Member account info (name, email, phone, address) — required to provide and dispatch service.
- Grill and home details (grill make/model, access notes, dog notes, gate codes) — required for your dedicated valet to perform service.
- Service history (visit dates, photos, condition reports, parts replaced) — kept for the life of your membership so we can spot patterns and protect your grill long-term.
- Payment information — processed by our payment provider (Stripe). We never store credit card numbers on our own servers.
What We Don't Collect
- We don't use third-party tracking pixels for advertising.
- We don't sell or rent your information to anyone, ever.
- We don't use your photos for marketing without explicit, written permission.
- We don't track you across other websites.
How We Use Your Data
- To provide and schedule grill maintenance services for your membership.
- To communicate with you about your account, your service, and your grill.
- To improve our service based on aggregated patterns across members (always anonymized).
- To comply with legal and tax obligations.
Who Has Access
- Your dedicated valet has access to the service history and access notes relevant to maintaining your grill.
- Travis Gooden (founder) and senior team have access for support, quality assurance, and member escalations.
- Our hosting and email infrastructure providers have technical access required to operate the service. They are bound by data processing agreements and do not use member data for their own purposes.
Your California Rights (CCPA)
California residents have specific rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):
- The right to know what personal information we've collected about you.
- The right to request deletion of your personal information.
- The right to opt out of any sale or sharing of your information (we do neither).
- The right to non-discrimination for exercising these rights.
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@grillvalet.com. We'll verify your identity and respond within 45 days, as required by law.
Data Retention
- Active members: data kept for the life of your membership.
- Past members: data kept for seven years after cancellation, as required for legal, tax, and warranty purposes.
- Photos and service reports: kept indefinitely as part of your grill's history, unless you request deletion.
Security
- Industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest.
- Two-factor authentication required for all staff access to member data.
- Member data stored on infrastructure located within the United States.
Changes to This Policy
- We'll notify members 30 days before any material change to this policy.
- The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
