A South Bay backyard at golden hour — a couple at an outdoor dining table, a built-in grill with steaks cooking, a modern home and pool in the background.
About

For people who'd rather grill than scrub.

GrillValet is a service for the rest of us — busy parents who own grills they barely have time to use, let alone clean.

Whether you've got a $400 Weber or a $9,000 Lynx, the problem is the same. Real life moves fast — kids, work, weekends booked solid. The grill is the last thing on the list. GrillValet exists so it doesn't have to be on your list at all.

Founded 2026 · Manhattan Beach · South Bay, CA
How it started

It started at a tee ball party.

Spring 2026. Manhattan Beach. A few dads standing near the grill.

Travis was at a Saturday afternoon tee ball end-of-season party in Manhattan Beach. Standing near the host's grill with a few other dads, the conversation drifted — not to work, not to wives, not to the kids running between the bounce house and the snack table. To grills.

Nobody had cleaned theirs in months. One dad's wife had been asking for over a year. Another had been thinking about hiring someone for ages, but every option felt either too cheap to trust or required him to be home on a workday.

Travis realized he'd been having the same conversation with himself for two years. He owned a Fire Magic he barely had time to enjoy. Michelle had stopped asking. The girls' tee ball and dance schedules filled every weekend.

A few weeks later, he started GrillValet.

If any of this sounds like your house, we built it for you.

We didn't invent this audience. We are this audience.

01

You're busy.

Two kids in activities. Maybe more. Sports, dance, music, scouts, weekend tournaments. A job that doesn't stop at five. A spouse who deserves your attention. The hours add up, and the grill is at the bottom of every list you make.

You own a grill that matters to you.

Maybe it's a premium built-in: Lynx, Hestan, Wolf, Fire Magic. Maybe it's a Weber you've had for years. Maybe it's a Kamado, a Traeger, or a smoker you bought because you wanted to grill better. The size of the investment doesn't matter. The fact that you bought it, intended to maintain it, and discovered you don't have time — that's what matters.

You'd rather grill than scrub.

Outdoor cooking is part of how you want to live — weekends with the kids, dinners on the deck, the centerpiece of the backyard. You bought a grill for the cooking, not the maintenance. GrillValet gives you back the part you actually wanted: the grilling.

Cooking · Not chores
Every grill, every kind

Premium built-ins. Standalone gas. Kamados, pellet smokers, classic Webers. Propane, natural gas, electric, charcoal — all welcome. The thread that connects our members isn't the grill. It's the owner.

What we believe

Four principles. They guide every decision.

How we operate, even when no one's watching.

I

Show up. On time. Same person. Every visit.

Our most distinctive practice is also our most invisible. The same valet serves the same member every visit — forever, if we can manage it. Familiarity creates trust. Trust is the only real moat in service businesses.

II

Document everything. Show our work.

Every service visit produces 10–15 photographs and a written report, archived in your member portal for the life of the grill. We're not afraid of being watched. We're proud of it.

III

Earn the relationship. Every visit.

Most service companies assume members owe them loyalty after one visit. We assume the opposite. Every visit is a chance to lose a member. We act accordingly.

IV

Stay local. Stay accountable.

We started in the South Bay because we live here. We expand only where we can maintain the same standards. We're not chasing scale — we're earning trust, neighborhood by neighborhood.

The founder

Travis Gooden, founder.

Manhattan Beach. Husband to Michelle. Dad to two girls. Owner of a Fire Magic that doesn't clean itself.

Travis at home. Manhattan Beach, late afternoon.

Travis Gooden is the founder of GrillValet. Born and raised in California, he lives in Manhattan Beach with his wife Michelle and their two daughters — one a tee ball/softball player, one a dancer. Both keep the family calendar fuller than seems possible.

He started GrillValet for the same reason most founders start what they start — he wanted a solution that didn't exist, and waiting around for someone else to build it stopped making sense.

Travis hand-trains every valet. Answers his own phone. Still services his own grill when he has time — it keeps him honest about what GrillValet actually delivers.
